Preparando Udon - Cooking Udon

Fiel a la costumbre de arruinar cualquier platillo intenté hacerlo con el Udón jeje, la semana pasada compré en un Asian Market algo de Udón instantaneo, de esos que pones 3 minutos en Agua hirviendo y con el sazonador en sobresito jeje, pero hasta este tipo de Udón tiene su chiste. Para el que no sabe el Udon es una clase de fideo grueso.
Well I came back to the kitchen to ruin an oriental dish, as usual, now I did it with the Udon, a kind of thick wheat-flour noodle popular in Japanese cuisine, last week I went an Asian market and bought instant udon, of the kind you put 3min in boiling water and add the condiment.

y un huevo

Pusimos el Udón en agua hirviendo por 3 minutos
Put the Udon in boiling water 3min


Agregar el sazonador anexo
Add the seasoning


Y para agregarle calorias le agregamos el pollo y un huevo crudo que se cocera un poco en el agua hirviendo.
And to add calories put the chicken and the egg thais is going to cook a bit in the boiling water


Vaya, que rápido salió esto jeje, además de muy rico el udón.
oh, this was easy and quick, by the way the udon was delicious.

El día de ayer estaba revisando algunas películas que tengo en catálogo y no había visto, entre ellas me encontré con ésta película "Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World"(2004) película japonesa dirigida Isao Yukisada basada en el popular libro del mismo nombre de Kyoichi Katayama.
Yesterday I was checking all the movies I have and have not seen, there I found this movie "Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World" (2004) a japanese movie directed by Isao Yukisada based in the same name bestselling book written by Kyoichi Katayama.

Es un drama romántico que trata de un joven japonés próximo a casarse Sakutaro Matsumoto, interpretado por Takao Osawa (Sky High), pero su prometida Ritsuko Fujimura, interpretada por Kou Shibasaki (One Missed Call), encuentra un extraño cassette y parte dejando una nota "Voy a irme por un tiempo, no te preocupes", él parte a buscarla a su pueblo natal, Takamatsu.
It's a romantic drama about a japanese guy soon to get married Sakutaro Matsumoto (Takao Osawa) but his fiancee Ritsuko Fujimura (Kou Shibasaki) finds a cassette tape and lefts the place with a note "I'm going away for awhile. Don't worry about me." so he goes to find her to his town, Takamatsu.

Pero en vez de encontrarla a ella, se reencuentra con su memoria, con la pena que le dejo primer amor, entonces recorre el pueblo a la vez que rememora paso a paso esa relación que lo dejó marcado y no le ha permitido seguir con su vida.
But instead of find her he finds his own memory, with the pain he stills have about his first love, he walks by the town at the time he remember that relationship that deeply affects him.

Bueno no quiero platicarles toda la película, es una muy buena película, una historia bien contada de un romance trágico, la recomiendo si es el tipo de película que buscan, a mi me mantuvo llorando como un crío las 2:20hrs que dura.
Well I don't want to tell you all the story, is't a really good movie, a story about a tragic romance, check it if this is the kind of movie you want to see, this movie keeps me crying as a baby the 2:20hrs the movie lasts.

Una tarde en el centro (2a parte) - An afternoon at the downtown (2 of 2)

Como comentaba en un post anterior sobre esta tarde, después del Meido Café me dirigí al barrio antiguo a un bar llamado el Mayabar, tomé una mesa y como diría el buen José Alfredo Jiménez (cantante popular mexicano) "¿Quién no llega a la cantina exigiendo su tequila y exigiendo su canción?" jeje.
After the visit to the Meido Cafe I went to the Old Town to a bar named Mayabar, I sat and just like a mexican popular song says started "asking for my tequila and asking for my song" hehe

Unos minutos más tarde empezó el programa del evento, un homenaje a Benedetti, primero con algunas escenas de la película "El lado oscuro del corazón" donde por cierto aparece el mismo Benedetti. Después escuchamos en la voz del autor "Bienvenida".
Some minutes later started the program of the event, a Tribute to Mario Benedetti a poet and writer from Uruguay that died recently, firs saw some scenes from a movie "The dark side of the hearth" where Benedetti participated. After that we hear the first poem "Bienvenida" (Welcome) in the voice of the poet.



Después escuchamos distintos poemas de Benedetti en voz de los miembros del grupo de creación poética "Voces en Verso", Alexa Legorreta con "Táctica y Estategia", Canis Onca con "Soy un caso pérdido", Noek Izardui con "Como árboles", entre otros, además de la versión musicalizada de algunos poemas como "No te salves" y "Te quiero" por parte de Macario Rodríguez.
So we listened different Benedetti's poems in voice of the members of the group of poetic creation "Voces en Verso" (Voices in Verse), Alexa Legorreta recited "Táctica y estrategia" (Tactic and strategy), Canis Onca with "Soy un caso perdido" (I'm a lost case), Noek Izardui with "Como árboles" (like trees), between others, besides we hear some musical version of poems los "No te salves" (Don't save yourself) and "Te quiero" (I love you) with the guitar and voice of Macario Rodríguez.

Después del evento, conforme se iba llendo la gente, yo me quede en la mesa platicando con Macario, uno de los que participaron en el evento, y su novia, después de insistir un poco me pusieron en la pantalla del lugar el juego de fútbol (era la final del futtbol mexicano) le entregué el libro que mencioné en la primera parte y departimos un rato, después los dueños nos invitan a subir a la terraza del lugar a seguir la velada, había dos mesas ocupadas y un buen ambiente.
After the event, while the people were leaving, I stay in the table talking with Macario and his girlfriend, I gave him the book we got from Cuba, (I wrote about that in the other post) and watched the soccer game in the bar tv, so the owners of the place invited us to go to the terrace, there were two occupied tables and a nice atmosphere.

Macario saca la guitarra y me pide apoyo en las voces mientras tocaba algunas canciones de trova cubana, y folk sudamericano, estuvimos cantando por más de una hora hasta que el tiempo nos alcanzó y tuvimos que despedirnos hasta la próxima tertulia.
Macario take the guitar and started playing some songs, asked me to support him with the voices while playing and singing some cuban trova and south american folk, we sang 'till the time catched us and had to say good bye, until the next reunion.

Gundam en tamaño real en Tokio - Real size Gundam in Tokyo

Leyendo por la red me encuentro que debido al 30 aniversario de la animación "Mobile Suit Gundam" se ha puesto un modelo de tamaño real en Tokio, se encuentra en el parque Shiokaze en la isla artificial de Odaiba.

Surfing by the web I found an article explaining that because of the 30th anniversary of the anime serie "Mobile Suit Gundam" has ben build a real size model of a robot in Tokio, at the Shiokaze park in the artificial island of Odaiba.

El modelo tiene una altura de 18 mts y es un mecha RX-78-2, estará ahí hasta finales del verano, que desperdicio, como se atreven a quitarlo antes de mi regreso a Tokio =(
The model is 59ft tall and is the reproduction of a RX-78-2, and will be there until the end of the summer, what a shame, why to take it out before my come back to Tokyo (no date confirmed yet).

Es una atracción interesante aunque confieso que no soy fan de Gundam, siempre me gustó más ese shoujo con mechas llamado SDF Macross (bueno, en América lo conocimos como la 1a generación de Robotech)

What an interesting thing but I have to said I'm not fan of Gundam, I like more that shoujo with mechas named SDF Macross (well, in America is known as the 1th generation of Robotech).

Una tarde en el centro (1a parte) - An afternoon at the downtown (1 of 2)

Hace 15 días con el apoyo de mi compadre Pepe Sulaimán, fotófrafo y artista plástico mexicano, nos llegó a Monterrey un pedido de libros desde La Habana, un cancionero de Silvio Rodríguez, trovador cubano y uno de los referentes musicales de la isla, el pedido en la ciudad lo recibí yo así que me vi en la labor de entregarlos a sus destinatarios.
15 days ago, thaks to the help of Pepe Sulaimán, a mexican photographer and plastic artist, arrived to Monterrey a books package from La Havana, with the songs of Silvio Rodriguez a cuban songwriter and one of the most importan artists of the island. I got the package, so I had to give each one to its owner.

Uno de las entregas era para mi amigo Macario Rodriguez, quien pertenece a un grupo de creación poética en la ciudad llamada "Voces en Verso" y quedamos de vernos el jueves de la semana pasada en un evento del grupo, homenaje a Mario Benedetti, autor uruguayo recientemente fallecido, la cita era en el Mayabar una instalación ubicada en el Barrio Antiguo de la ciudad de Monterrey, yo salí a las 6 de la tarde del trabajo en el centro de la ciudad cerca del lugar de reunión pero demasiado temprano para dirigirme al lugar por lo que decidí caminar por la zona.
One of the books was for my friend Macario Rodriguez who is part of a poetry creation group named "Voces en Verso" so we made the appointment in an event of the group, remembering Mario Benedetti an Uruguay poet that recently passed away, the event was at the Mayabar a place in the Old Town of Monterrey, I leaved the job at 6pm I work at the downtown of the city really near the place but too early to go directly so I choose to walk around the neighborhood.

Caminaba por Morelos,una calle peatonal de tipo comercial cuando en una de las calles que le rodean observé un muy particular negocio.
I was walking by Morelos street, a pedestrian comercial zone when I saw a peculiar place.


Era un meido cafe, por curiosidad entré al local y tome asiento en una mesa, las dos meseras, ataviadas en el traje de sirvienta me dan la bienvenida en japonés, a lo que yo atino a devolver el gesto con una leve reverencia, me dan la carta, pido unos takoyakis y un te verde frío con miel, ambos bastante buenos aunque los takoyakis muy cocidos para mi gusto (me gustan a medio cocer, medio crudos jeje) había dos pantallas LCD sobre los muros, en una con varios chavos jugando videojuegos (xbox360 me parece) y en la otra pantalla estaban pasando la película de Nana 2, yo sólo había visto la uno así que pedí después un café e hice tiempo para ver la película completa jeje.
A meido cafe, I got in the place and took a chair, the two waitress, using the maid custom told me welcome in japanese (I think that's what they said hehe) I answered with a reverence, they gave me the menu, asked for takoyakis and cold green tea with honey, really good both of them but I like takoyakis more undone, there were two LCD at the wall one of them with guys playing videogames and the other with a japanese movie Nana2, I just saw the first so I asked later for a coffee and made time to watch complete the movie hehe.

El lugar interesante, la atención buena, aunque enfocado a un público más joven, más joven que yo jeje, si alguien tiene curiosidad se encuentra en la siguiente dirección: Galeana 1018 entre Hidalgo y Ocampo (a una cuadra de Morelos) y justo detras del Hotel Sheraton Ambassador.
A nice place, good service, but focused for younger people, younger than me hehe, if somebody wants to check it it's at Monterrey downtown, Galeana street 1018 between Hidalgo st. and Ocampo st. just behind the Hotel Ambassador.

Bueno, después de pagar la cuenta retome camino al Barrio Antiguo de la ciudad de Monterrey, el cual tiene la particularidad de que hace rato dejo de ser un barrio habitacional para entregarse al sector servicios, principalmente bares y restaurantes, yo me dirigí a uno sobre la calle Matamoros llamado el Mayabar, un bar de decoración prehispánica y un interesante programa cultural,
Well, after paying the bill, I took my way to the Monterrey Old Town, that with the time has changed the vocation from living zone to services zone, basically restaurants and bars, I was going to a bar in Matamoros st. named the Mayabar, with prehispanic decoration and an interesting cultural program.

Obra de Sábato en japonés - Ernesto Sabato, argentinian writer, translated to japanese

Solo para comentarles que el Instituto Cervantes de Tokio inauguró una semana dedicada a Argentina y la inauguró con la presentación de la traducción al japonés de "El escritor y sus fantasmas" obra del escritor Ernesto Sábato.

Writing just to tell you that the Cervantes Institute in Tokyo is celebrating a week dedicated to Argentina y started with the presentation of the japanese translation of "the writer and his ghosts" a book of the writer Ernesto Sábato.

Esta será la primera de cinco obras de autores galardonados por el Premio Cervantes como Juan Gelman, Mario Vargas Llosa y Antonio Gamoneda que serán traducidas al japonés con la colaboración del Ministerio de Cultura español.

This is going to be the first of five books written by winners of the Cervantez Prize (equivalent to the Nobel of Literature Prize for spanish speaking writers) just like Juan Gelman, Mario Vargas Llosa and Antonio Gamoneda that are going to be translated to japanese with the collaboration of the Spain Culture Ministry.

El programa de esta "Semana Argentina", organizado por la Embajada de ese país en Japón y el Instituto Cervantes, incluye también actividades musicales, otras conferencias y un festival de tango, el baile argentino por excelencia. Para quien tenga la oportunidad y el deseo de disfrutar de la cultura de este país sudamericano.
