La Cámara de la Muerte - The Japanese Death Chamber

En Japón, como en todos los países, existen temas tabú que simplemente no se mencionan, la sociedad los evita e incluso la prensa le saca la vuelta a su discusión abierta, uno de estos temas que causan malestar es el de la pena de muerte.
Japan, just like other countries, has some topics that don't like to talk about, the taboos that society and media use to avoid talking about them, one of this awkward topics is the death penalty.

Y no es que Japón sea el único país que la practique, nosotros tenemos a nuestros vecinos del norte (EUA)que la aplican con singular alegría y se regodean del "escarmiento", México hace mucho que abandono su práctica (cuando menos de manera legal), posiblemente desde el fin de nuestras luchas armadas que alcanzaron el primer tercio del S.XX, lo que llama la atención es la secrecía con la que lo llevan a cabo, se desconoce la ubicación de los centros de ejecución, los presos no saben la fecha en que sucederá, etc., procesan la información de manera cuando menos extraña para el estandar occidenal.
And what catch our attention is not the fact that is happening there, other countries do it for example our northern neighbors (US) that not just do it but make of it a media event, Mexico quits the use of death penalty long time ago (at leat legally) probably since the end of our revolution that took the first 30 years of the XX century, what takes our attention is the way they hide it, nobody knows the execution location, the prisoner doesn't know the execution day, etc, they handle the info in a weirdo way, at least for our western standar.

¿Porque el tema polémico? En este momento estaba leyendo el Diario Reforma (Mexico) en su versión electrónica y reproduce un artículo de AP donde se anuncia que por primera vez,cuando menos desde la 2a Guerra Mundial, el gobierno japonés había abierto las puertas de una sala de ejecuciones para la prensa local, esto por iniciativa de la Ministra de Justicia Keiko Chiba.
Why to talk about this topic? the opportunity of course, I was just readind an AP article from the Reforma, a mexican newspaper, saying that for the first time, at least since WWII the japanese government opened the doors, to local press, to the execution chambers, as an initiative of the Minister of Justice Keiko Chiba.

Se les dió un tour de 30min mostrándoles las salas, y el lugar de ejecución (horca) así como el sistema que lo activa. Se ha dado la lectura de que esta apertura por parte de la Ministra Chiba es parte de sus intentos por abrir la discusión de la pena de muerte e intentar su abolición. Actualmente hay 107 presos a la espera de su cita con la muerte.
The press took a 30m tour by the halls and the execution chamber (gallows)and the system to activate it. Media made the lecture tha this oppeness of the Minister Chiba is part of her attempts to open discussion about death penalty and try to abolish. Actually there are 107 prisoner waiting their date with death.

I'm happy to have the possibility of having a deep breath every morning, and after meditate, to go fighting for the life to have a, just a bit, better living place.

Estoy feliz de tener un trabajo que me exige, que me enseña, y me permite colaborar en mis modestas posibilidades en el desarrollo de mi pueblo.
I'm happy to have a job, a job that teach me, that let me be a better guy everyday, and let me colaborate within my modest efforts, in the development of my country.

I'm happy because I can, any day, to remember all the great things I have, just in the hard times for my country that is facing some particular problems that tests the viability as a state.

Hoy, 6 de agosto, como todos los años, desde 1945, se conmemora el sobrevuelo del Enola Gay, avión del ejército norteamericano, sobre la ciudad Hiroshima en las postrimerías de la 2ª Guerra Mundial, el lanzamiento desde este avión de la primer bomba nuclear con serios propósitos de destrucción. Era el mensaje, dicen, es la desgracia, pienso.
Today, august 6, just like every year since 1945, is remembered the flight of the “Enola Gay”, US Army War Plane, over the city of Hiroshima during the WWII, and the drop of the “Little boy” first nuclear bomb with a serious destruction intention. It was a message they said, it was a disgrace I thought.

Tanto Hiroshima como Nagasaki (la otra ciudad bombardeada) tratan de rescatar algo positivo de la desgracia, la enseñanza viva de lo que el hombre es capaz de hacer, el erigirse como punto de esperanza de que sobre las cenizas puede volver a surgir la vida.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki (the other bombed city) tried and try to rescue something positive from this cruelty scene, the living understanding about what man can do to prevail, and becoming a symbol of hope cause life can go back from ashes.

Hace algunos años, durante mi visita a Japón, tuve la oportunidad de visitar tanto Hiroshima como Nagasaki, es una experiencia de vida, el impacto es brutal, y así lo desean los actuales habitantes de estas comunidades, si no hay enseñanza sería fútil la pérdida de tantas vidas.
Some years ago, during a travel to Japan, I had the oportunity to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it’s a life’s experience, the shock is brutal, and I think that’s the way the people from this communities want you t olive it, if there’s no learning will be useless the lost of all that lives.
