Crónicas de viajes pasados: Un día en Praga (2 de 2) - Chronicles of past travels: A day at Prague (2 of 2)

Recorremos todos los pisos de la disco, buscando donde ubicarnos, nos detenemos en una clase de "chill out zone" nos acercamos a la barra y buscando algo autoctono para tomar, pedimos al bartender una bebida llamada absynth, una verdadera patada de mula, no lo pedi de nuevo, riendo le digo al bartender que me acompañe con una, y me responde que el no era tan estupido, tipo pesado (=P).
We visited all the floors in the disco looking for a place to stay, we stay a while in a kind of chill out zone, we get near the bar and asking for something local we try a drink named absynth, damned that was a strong drink I didn't ask for a second cup, trying to made fun I invited the bartender a cup of absynth, he, with a mocking face just said he was not a stupid, what a jerk! (=P)

Ya eran poco más de las 3 de la mañana cuando una chica sudamericana que estaba con el grupo se empieza a despedir de todos pues quería ir a descansar, yo, actuando algo paternalista no quise que se fuera sola así que me despedí también y alegué que era presa del cansancio, saliendo del lugar somo testigos de como unas muy guapas chicas gitanas se acercaban a un par de tipos que dificilmente se mantenían en pie, de repente los empiezan a abrazar y besarlos, a la vez que metían las manos a sus bolsillos y los despojaban de carteras y documentos, quise intervenir pero la chica que acompañaba me señala a un grupo de muchachos parados junto a un árbol y que parecían ser el grupo de apoyo de estas muchachas así que contra mi costumbre seguí mi camino.
It was 3am when a southamerican girl that was with the group was gonna go back to the dormitories and start saying goodbye to everybody, then me, in a paternalist mood didn't want her to go alone so I said I was tired too and was going to rest. Leaving the disco we saw some pretty gipsies girls walked near some really drunk guys and started hugging and kissing them, at the same time they were taking all the things of this people (wallet, rings, watches, etc) I was gonna interfere but the other girl stopped me and show me some boys standing besides a tree waiting for the girls, so I better kept my way.



Por la hora ya no estaba funcionando el metro por lo que nos acercamos a la parada del tranvía, los dos eramos nuevos en la ciudad así que después de ver los mapas una y otra y otra vez decidimos cual era el que debiamos tomar, tomamos el tranvía correcto pero surgió un pequeño problema, lo tomamos en la dirección contraria, nos dimos cuenta hasta que el tranvía llegó a su última parada y nos desalojaron del mismo, el conductor apago todas las luces, prendió un despertador y se echo una siesta, antes de retomar el camino en sentido contrario.
Because of the hour, the subway was closed, so we walked to the streetcar station, both of us were new in the city so we watched the maps a while to know which car to take, once we decide wait a while for it and took it, and yes that was the correct streetcar....but with the wrong direction. We didn't notice until the last stop and asked us to out, the driver turned everythin off, set a clock alarm and took a nap before taking the way in opposite direction.

Estábamos los dos, la chica sudamericana y un servidor parados y algo confundidos en la madrugada checa, recuerdo oir perros ladrando a lo lejos y un frío que me hacía temblar, y eso que estábamos en verano, la chica no cargaba con nada para cubrirse por lo que me quite el sweater y se lo ofrecí, después de dudar un poco lo aceptó agradecida, mientras esperábamos se abrazó de mi, unos momentos después me doy cuenta que se había quedado dormida de pie, yo seguía esperando que despertara el chofer y me mantenía alerta, algo desconfiado del entorno.
So we found us, the southamerican girl and me, standing and little confused en the czech dawn, I remember I heard the barking dogs at the distance and a cold wind that made me shiver, even we were in the middle of the summer, the girl didn't have anything to cover herself so I offered my sweater, after a doubt she finally took it grateful, while we were waiting she hugged me, a few moments later I noticed she felt asleep, standing in the street, I was waiting the driver wake up and kept alert, suspicious of everything (a bit paranoic hehe).

Pasaron alrededor de 40 minutos hasta que despertó el chofer y prendió el tranvía, con un leve movimiento despierto a mi compañera y pudimos retomar el camino, ya en la ruta correcta, al pasar el tranvía frente al puente de Carlos suben al mismo el resto de los compañeros que habíamos dejado en la disco, nos miran extrañados y les comentamos nuestro error entre risas, terminando por fín la que fue una larga jornada.
40 minutes later the driver woke up and turn the streetcar on, with a gentle movement I woke up my partner y took the way back to dormitories, when we passed in front of the Charles bridge, all the mates we left in the disco took the same car, they watched us and asked what happened, we talked about our mistake with laugh, finally ending a long day.

Fue hace algunos años, era todavía estudiante universitario, apliqué para tomar un par de cursos revalidables a mi carrera en un país europeo, a la hora de ver las opciones aparecen 2 ciudades como posibles receptoras de mis deseos de huída: Londres y Praga, después de mucho meditar (algo así como 15 seg. jeje) mi decisión era clara.
Some years ago, I was then college student, I applied to take a couple of courses in a european country, when I was gonna close the deal 2 cities appeared as posible exit route (hehe): London and Prague, after some seconds I took decisions.

Me fuí a Praga, ¿porqué? porque no tenia una peregrina idea de que iba a encontrar ahi, era una opción exótica al ser una completa desconocida entonces (tal vez todavía) y el tipo de cambio la presentaba como un lugar económico. Esto es sólo una introducción en otra oportunidad hablaré sobre ese viaje, que abarcó gran parte de Europa,... si logro recordarlo.
I went Prague, why? cause I didn't know anything about Prague or what I was gonna find there, this was an exotic option being the city very unknown then (and maybe still) and because of the exchange rate was a really cheap place to be. This is just the intro of a really big travel that included some others european countries, I'll write later about it... if I can remember.



Habíamos terminado clases en una instalación en el Stare Mesto (Ciudad Vieja) a un par de cuadras del Staromestske Namesti (la plaza principal) donde se levanta el reloj astronómico y la estatua del reformista religioso Jan Hus, fue una larga tarde, después de deambular un rato por la ciudad vieja partimos a el que se volvió nuestro lugar de reunión en nuestra corta estancia en Praga, la Casa Blu, un restaurant bar administrado por latinoamericanos donde llegabamos a comer y hablar y cantar y convivir, a la mitad de la comida se nos une el chef al jolgorio, era un mexicano, que también era pintor, que andaba de aventurero por Europa del Este y había parado un tiempo en la mágica Praga.
We ended that dayclass in a building near the Stare Mesto (Old town) a couple of blocks from the Staromestske Namesti (Old town square) where is located the astronomical clock and the Jan Hus statue, a religious reformer, what a long day, after walking by the place we took the way to "la casa blu" restaurant-bar, managed by latins, reunion place in our short time at Prague, we used to go to eat, to drink, to talk and even to sing, that day, in the middle of the meal the chef took a place in our table to join the party hehe, he was a mexican guy, already an awesome painter, that was in the adventure by east Europe and stopped a bit at the magical Prague.

Después de eso tomamos el metro hasta los dormitorios para dejar las cosas en nuestras habitaciones y cambiar de ropa, para seguir la reunión en un bar a la vuelta de los dormitorios, no soliamos permanecer mucho en el barrio pues la mayor parte de los establecimientos eran un atentado al pudor, cuando menos el mío jeje.
After that we went back to the dormitories to left the bags, changed the cloths and kept the convivence in a bar just outside the dormitories, we didn't use to spend so much time in the neighborhood cause the most of the business in the zone were a bit shameful, at least to me (hehe).



Apenas anocheció volvimos a la estación del metro con rumbo al centro, la mayor parte del grupo ya mostraba estragos por la bebida así que entre la alegría y el inusual ruido en los vagones eramos centro de atención para nuestros ya molestos, me parece, anfitriones. At nightfall we took the way to the subway station going again to downtown, almost all the group was a bit drunk so between the joy and the noise we became the focus of attention in the subway car for our irritated czech hosts.



Nos dirigíamos a puente de Carlos (Karluv Most) un puente peatonal que cruza el río Moldava con estatuas de caracter religioso instaladas a lo largo del mismo. Junto al puente, del lado del Stare Mesto (del otro lado del río se encuetra la Mala Strana o ciudad pequeña) se encuentra (o encontraba, hace años de esto) el Karlovy Lazne una discoteca conformada por 5 pisos donde en cada uno de ellos tocaban un genero en particular.
Then we walked to the Charles' Bridge (Karluv Most) a pedestrian bridge over the Moldava river with religious statues all along it. Besides the bridge, in the Stare Mesto side (the other side of the bridge is the Mala Strana or Small Town) is located (or was located, I don't know, I have not been at Prague in some time) the Karlovy Lazne a 5 stories disco-club with different music style in every floor.


El lugar estaba repleto, tuvimos que esperar unos 30 minutos para ingresar, entrando a la disco escucho a alguien gritando mi nombre volteo y me encuentro a un amigo que estaba estudiando en Alemania y estaba de visita en la ciudad, el mundo es realmente pequeño, después de la actualización sobre nuestros estatus seguimos nuestras rutas.
The place was full, after a 30 minutes waiting finally got in, suddenly, in the entrance I heard somebody saying my name I turned my head and I found a friend who was studying in Germany and was visiting the city, after an update talk we continued with our routes.

Una semana con Katsuhiro Otomo - Katsuhiro Otomo's week

Esta semana, aprovechando el material que tenía en la casa aproveche para ver algunas animaciones japonesas las cuales contaban con un común denominador, la participación de Katsuhiro Otomo (大友克洋) en alguna de sus fases del proyecto creativo, estos fueron los trabajos que vi:
This week I watched some japanese animation that had something in common, Katsuhiro Otomo colaborated in one of the phases of the creative project, these are the animes I saw.

AKIRA (アキラ 1988)

Esta es considerada la obra maestra de Otomo, participó en ella como director y muestra un mundo decadente y en la ruina moral, teniendo como escenario Neo Tokio (ciudad que nace de la destrucción del Tokio original), la cual es una metropolis problematica, entre manifestaciones públicas, violencia, etc.
This movie is considered the Otomo's master piece as director, shows a decadent and in moral ruin world, developed at Neo Tokyo (city created after the complete destruction of the original), Neo Tokyo is a difficult metropolis, between public demonstrations, violence, drugs, etc.

Con un argumento complejo muestra un gobierno experimentando con seres humanos en el desarrollo de habilidades psíquicas, siendo parte central uno de los experimentos con un motociclista que reacciona de una manera muy "humana" al sentirse con poder.
With a complex story line, the movie shows a governments doing experiments with human beings developing psychic skills, the main story of the movie is about a experiment with a motorcyclist that, surprised because of his new powers, reacts just like any other man with power, really bad (he he).

METROPOLIS (メトロポリス, 2001)

Animación basada en el manga de Osamu Tezuka, considerado uno de los padres del manga y la animación moderna en Japón, dirigida por Rin Taro, y con guión de Katsuhiro Otomo.
Anime based in a Osamu Tezuka's manga (comic), author considered as one of the fathers of the modern animation in Japan, directed by Rin Taro and with a script of Katsuhiro Otomo.

Muestra una ciudad futurista donde conviven humanos y robots, con muy claras diferencias sociales, corrupciòn gubernamentales y fuertes grupos de choque tratando de imponer sus métodos cuasi alegoría del facismo.
Showing a futuristic city with a normal coexistence between humans and robots, there you can see clear social distinction, government corruption and strong shock groups as allegory of the fascist systems.

Visualmente hermosa, pero terriblemente lenta, y padece, a mi parecer, de uno de los males de mucha de la animación actual, parece estar hecha expedito para el mercado externo por lo que en mucho sufre de orfandad de cultura de referencia.
With a beautifull view, full of colors, but really slow, this movie has, according to me, one of the most frecuent problems of the actual anime, looks like if this was made just for the foreign market so it suffers of a kind of lack of reference culture.

MEMORIES (メモリーズ, 1996)

Esta película esta conformada por 3 cortos escritos por Katsuhiro Otomo, La rosa magnetica, Bomba fetida y Carne de cañón.
This movie is made with 3 shortfilms written by Katsuhiro Otomo: The magnetic rose, Stink bomb and Cannon fodder.

No voy a hablar demasiado de esta pero he de decir que es una de mis animaciones favoritas, principalmente por la historia de la rosa magnética que habla de unos astronautas atendiendo el mensaje de auxilio de una nave varada. Lo recomiendo mucho.
I don't want to write so much about this one, I just have to say that is one of my favorite anime movies, basically because of the first story the magnetic rose about some astronauts attending an emergency sign that's coming from other spaceship.

STEAMBOY (スチームボーイ 2004)

Esta es otra película escrita y dirigida por Otomo, dentro del género steampunk, género que se refiere a una realidad donde el vapor sigue siendo la principal fuente de energía.
This is another movie written and directed by Otomo, in the stempunk genre, that treats about a reality where steam still being the main energy source.

Ubicada en el siglo XIX en medio de la Revolución industrial y trata la lucha de empresa y gobierno por hacerse con un invento capaz de proveer cantidad infinita de vapor y por lo tanto energía.
Located at XIX century in the middle of the Industrial Revolution and shows the fight between a company and a government to control a new invention capable to provide a big smount of steam, that means a lot of energy.

Buen tema y de nuevo muy bella visualmente, pero falla algo a la historia, simple, demasiado, le falta fuerza y no conecta del todo con el espectador.
Good topic, with a beautiful work but with some fails in the script, it's simple...too simple, don't have enough argumentative strenght and can't connect with audience, if you don't care and like good technical works this is the movie.

Bueno también vi Robot Carnival (ロボット・カーニバル), 1987) pero en este compendio de cortos Otomo solo participa en la introducción.
Well I also watched Robot Carnival that is a kind of anthology with 9shortfilms with robot as basic topic, in this one Otomo only works in the first short "Opening"

Domo-kun (どーもくん)

El día de ayer estaba haciendo el zapping al televisor y me detengo un momento en canal de Nickelodeon para el mercado latinoamericano, estaban transmitiendo un corto con un personaje muy particular, una clase de criatura de color café, de forma rectangular y la boca abierta mostrando la dentadura puntiaguda. era Domo-kun.

Domo-kun es la mascota del canal de televisión NHK de Japón y aparece en muchos cortos utilizando la técnica de animación "stop motion".

Las características del personaje son entre otras que nació de un huevo y vive en una cueva con una osa conocida como Jii Chan, y con Usagii, un conejo que disfruta del televisor y de tomar te (¿quien no lo disfruta?), en la cueva convive además con un par de murcielagos.

Yesterday, I was watching tv and in the middle of the zapping something catched my attention in Nickelodeon channel for latinamerica, they were showing a short film (30secs) with a peculiar character, a kind of brown monster, square form and an always open mouth that shows their teeths, Domo-kun was his name.

Domo-kun is the mascot of Japan's NHK tv station and appears in many sketches using the animation technique "stop motion"

The characteristics of the character are that is hatched from an egg, lives in a cave with a bear named Jii Chan and with Usagii a wise rabbit that enjoy watchin tv and drinking some matcha tea (who doesn't?), in the cave are also a couple of bats.

The Domo-kun's favorite meal is japanese style meat and potato stew, never closes the mouth, his favorite music group is Guitar Wolf his dream is to fly....ah! and he's one of the media japanese icons

Dreams Come True (ドリームズ・カム・トゥルー, Dorīmuzu Kamu Turū)

Ya en otras oportunidades he hablado sobre música japonesa, en esas ocasiones me enfoqué a algunos grupos más cercanos a la escena rock, hoy voy a hablar un poco sobre un grupo de J-pop llamado Dreams Come True.
I have written before about japanese music, but then I focused in some groups of j-rock, today I'm going to write aboyt a j-pop music group named "Dreams Come True".

Dreams Come True es un dúo japonés de j-pop fundado en 1988 con fuertes influencias de Jazz y Tecno, el conjunto es más conocido como DCT y normalmente referido como "Dorikamu" (ドリカム)por sus seguidores.
Dreams Come True is a japanese duo founded at 1988 with strong influences of rhythms like jazz and techno, the group is also known as DCT and their fans call it "Dorikamu" (ドリカム)

Originalmente no eran 2 sino 3 los integrantes de DCT, lo conformaban Nishikawa Takahiro (teclados), Nakamura Masato (productor y bajista) y Yoshida Miwa (vocalista), fue en 2002 cuando Nishikawa Takahiro se separaría del grupo.
They used to be a 3 people group, being part of it Nishikawa Takahiro (keyboards), Nakamura Masato (producer and bass) and Yoshida Miwa (lead voice), in 2002 Nishikawa Takahiro left DCT.

WINTER SONG

En Japón grabaron varios temas para programas de TBS y no paso mucho tiempo antes de que captaran la atención de Disney para quien crearon varios tonos musicales para sus shows de televisión y las atracciones del Tokyo Disney Resort. En 2001 compusieron la canción tema para el estreno japonés de la película de Disney "Atlantis" y Miwa fue contratada para dar voz al personaje de Audrey Rocío Ramírez en la versión japonesa.
In Japan they recorded many songs for the tv shows of the TBS, and worked with Disney to create music for their tv shows and attractions of the Tokyo Disney Resort. In 2001 they composed the main theme for the japanese released of the Disney "Atlantis", even Miwa was the dubbing voice of Audrey Rocio Ramirez in the japanese version.

Durante este tiempo, los miembros del grupo empezaron a trabajar en otras actividades. Masato se aventuró en componer videos para la serie de Sega Sonic mientras la carrera de Miwa en solitario lanzada en 1995 sacando un álbum llamado Beaty and Harmony. En 1997 DCT cambian de discográfica de Sony Epic a Toshiba Emi para el mercado japonés y al mismo tiempo trabajando para Virgin Record America dándole al grupo la oportunidad de vender a nivel internacional. En este mismo año lanzan "Sing or Die" el primer album de DCT que llega a los mercados norteamericanos.
In 1997 DCT changed of company from Sony Epic to Toshiba Emi in the japanese market, and worked with Virgin Record America for the international market. That year they released "Sing or Die" first DCT album sold in the America market.



En marzo de 2002 Nishikawa Takahiro dejó el grupo. Sus contratos con Virgin Records America y Toshiba EMI se rompieron ese mismo año. El trío se convirtió en dueto bajo su propia firma independiente DCT Records, y sacaron un nuevo single titulado It's All About Love.
In March 2002 Nishikawa Takahiro left the group, their contracts with Virgin Records America and Toshiba Emi were broken that year. The 3 group became a duo under their independent sign DCT Record, and released a new single "It's all about Love".



El grupo anunció su primer single bajo Universal en 2004 con dos maxi-CD's, lanzados unos meses después. Ese mismo año, sacaron su primer álbum DIAMOND 15, como dueto. En 2006 sacan el disco "The Love Rocks" y en diciembre de 2007 lanzan "And I Love You". En este momento estan promocionando todavía su último single 連れてって　連れてって|Tsuretette Tsuretette que sacaron a la venta en noviembre pasado.
In 2004 DCT announce their first single with Universal, with 2 maxi cd's a couple of months later. That year releases DIAMOND 15, their first duo album, in 2006 releases "the love rocks" and in December 2007 released "And I love you", right now they are in the promotion of their last single 連れてって　連れてって|Tsuretette Tsuretette released last november.

Aunque no gozan de la popularidad de sus primeros años mantienen un buen grupo de fans. Con continuas actividades en la escena musical y su trabajo con distintos artistas sigue teniendo presencia. Es una opción madura, contrario a lo que abunda en el mercado y la voz Yoshida Miwa es espectacular.
Nowadays they're not as popular as they used to, but they keep a respectable amount of loyal fans, they keep mivig with the music activity and use to work with other artists. They're a mature option, the kind of groups unusual in the japanese market, and the Yoshida Miwa voice is awesome.

Takashi Miike (三池 崇史): el incomprendido... el incomprensible - Takashi Miike (三池 崇史)

Hay personajes del espectáculo o del arte de cada país que perecen tener una mayor proyección hacia el exterior que dentro de su propia patria ¿porqué se da este fenómeno? puede ser que no cuente con los canales de distribución necesarios para el reconocimiento de su medio, puede ser porque su trabajo carezca de la sensibilidad para tocar a los suyos aunque en el exterior sea reconocido o simplemente porque son parte de un producto gourmet que funciona en un nicho en particular.
There are people in the showbusiness or in the art of every country that looks to have a bigger renown outside their country, Why is that common the phenomenon? maybe because at home they don't have the distribution channels needed for the recognition of their circle, maybe because their work don't have the "feeling" needed to touch the people of their own even when outside the country they're recognized or maybe because they're part of a gourmet product that work for a particular niche.

Aunque no sea mexicano sino chileno me viene a la cabeza el caso de Alejandro Jodorowsky que pese a que sus películas son de culto en muchas partes del mundo, aquí, fuera de sus afines, es practicamente un desconocido, el Topo, una de sus películas más importantes fue filmada aquí a las afueras de Monterrey.
Even he's not mexican but chilean this reminds me Alejandro Jodorowsky that even their movies are cult movies in many places of the world, outside their regular fans in Mexico he's a completely unknown, El Topo (the mole), one of its more important movies was filmed here in Monterrey (Mexico).

Pero ya he divagado demasiado, yo de quien quería hablar era de Takashi Miike, un director de cine muy particular, prolífico en su trabajo y gustoso de enfrentar al público con los extremos (morales, sociales, de lo real-irreal), coqueteando con frecuencia con el mal gusto, con el gore, con lo sexual o con lo terriblemente explícito.
But I have been speaking about so many things, what I wanted to talk about is Takashi Miike, a very particular japanese movie director, prolific in his work, who likes to face the people watching his work with the extreme (moral, social, real-unreal) usually so close with bad taste, with gore, with the sexual, violence and the unneed explicit.



Jugar con la mente y los sentimientos del espectador es parte del juego, asustarlos, desorientarlos, invitarlos a ser partícipes de las contradicciones de las que somos víctimas los seres humanos.
He plays with the mind and feelings of the audience, that's part of the game, to frighten them, to confuse them, to invite them to be part of the contradictions we, the human beings, are victims.

Las primeras películas de Miike fueron producciones para la televisión, pero también comenzó a trabajar en varias películas directas a video (éstas, supuestamente fueron financiadas por los yakuzas para el lavado de dinero pero no se tienen pruebas). Miike todavía dirige producciones en video intermitentemente debido a la libertad creativa que da la baja censura del medio y la permisividad de los productores con cintas arriesgadas.
Miike's first works were tv made movies, also started to work in many OAVs (movies for video), some people said that finaced by yakuzas for the money laundry but there are no evidence. Nowadays he stills doing video productions because of the creative freedom, low censorship and permission of producers to made risky movies.

Se cree que el debut cinematográfico de Miike fue con Shinjuku Triad Society (1995), pero su película Daisan no gokudô había estado en los cines algunos meses antes. Sin embargo el primer lanzamiento cinematográfico que ganó atención pública, fue el de Shinjuku Triad Society. Esta película mostraba su estilo extremo y los temas recurrentes en sus producciones. El éxito de ésta película le dio la libertad de trabajar en películas con presupuesto más alto. Shinjuku Triad Society también fue la primera película de lo que se conoce como, su "Trilogía de la sociedad negra", que también incluye Rainy Dog (1997) y Ley Lines (1999). De estas he visto podido ver las tres.
It's believed that Miike's debut was "Shinjuku Triad Society" (1995) but his movie Daisan no gokudo was in the theaters months before. Of course that "Shinjuku Triad Society" (also known as China Mafia Wars) was the first important and recognized work, this movie shows its extreme style, and usual topics of their works. The success of this movie gave him freedom to film with higher budgets, Shinjuku's... is also the first of the known as "Black Society Trilogy" with "Rainy Dog" (1997) and "Ley Lines" (1999), I have seen the three movies.

La popularidad le llegó en 2000 con la película romántica de terror Audition (Ôdishon) (1999), y su película sobre yakuzas Dead or Alive (1999), la cual fue presentada en festivales internacionales. Déspues de eso fue ganando seguidores de culto en Occidente, que han aumentado con los lanzamientos en DVD de sus trabajos.
Miike's popularity grows thanks to the 2000 horror-romantic movie Audition (Ôdishon), and his yakuza's movie Dead or Alive (1999), that was shown in the international festivals. After that he got cult follower of its work in Occident that grows because of the dvd release of his movies.



Mi primer contacto con el director fue con su película de 2001 "Ichi the killer" (殺し屋１) basado en el manga de Hideo Yamamoto del mismo nombre. La película trata de un tipo cobarde, con tintes neuróticos que en medio de un ataque de furia puede convertirse en el asesino más violento del que se tenga noticias, esta película cuenta además con algunos personajes en extremo pintorescos como Kakihara un yakuza sado que será la delicia de los amantes del género.
My first contact with this director was the 2001 movie "Ichi the Killer"(殺し屋１) based in the, with the same name, Hideo Yamamoto manga. The movie is about a guy, a coward and neurotic guy, that in the middle of rage atack become the most violent murderer known, this movie has already some really interesting characters like Kakihara a sado-yakuza who takes attention of the audience.



En sus más de 70 producciones, que incluyen teatro, televisión y video, aborda temáticas como la yakuza,la mafia china,disfunciones sociales y emocionales y ¿porqué no? algo de realismo mágico, aunque los expertos se escandalicen con la afirmación.
In his more than 70 works, that includes theater, tv and video, he use to have some specific topics that repeat, yakuzas, chinese mafia, social and emotional disfunctions, etc.

Miike se burla de todo y de todos, hace desde trabajos incomprensibles como Big Bang Love: Juvenile, parodias musicales como The Hapiness of the Katakuries en 2001, muestra la lucha de pandillas escolares entre hijos de yakuzas como en Crows Zero y hasta experimentos pachecos con el spaghetti western como en su reciente trabajo Sukiyaki Western Django,donde por cierto participa Tarantino, el cual es un ¿remake? de Django un spaghetti western de 1966 dirigido por Sergio Corbucci, esta película de Miike esta hablada en un dialecto similar al inglés jeje.
He makes fun of everything and everybody, he makes some incomprehensible movies like Big Bang Love: Juvenile, musical parody like the 2001 The hapiness of the Katakuries, High School gangs confrontation like Crows Zero and some weirdo experiments like Sukiyaki Western Django where Tarantino has a special intervention, this last movie is a remake of an spaghetti western, the 1966 Sergio Corbucci's "Django", speaken in something that tries to be english (hehe).




No le invito a ver su trabajo pues parte de él no es para todos los estómagos, pero si lo suyo es el cine experimental, trasgresor y el no saber que es a lo que se enfrenta (tal vez una soberana basura), pues le puede dar una oportunidad.
Miike's work is not for everybody's taste, but if you like experimental movies, the kind you never you what are you gonna face, then you can give him an opportunity

Haciendo sushi - Cooking sushi

Hace unas semanas quedé con unos amigos de juntarnos a cenar, con la novedad de que entre todos haríamos la cena, se acordó menú japonés, comimos arroz frito (yakimeshi), sopa miso y sushi...bueno más bien makis, que es lo que se conoce por estas tierras como sushi.

Some weeks ago, I went to dinner with some friends, but instead of going somewhere we made the dinner, japanese menu, we ate fried rice (yakimeshi), miso soup and sushi.....wel we really made makis (rolls) that is what is known as sushi here.

Lo primero que hicimos fue el arroz para sushi al cual, ya listo, se le agrega vinagre.
The first we made is the rice for sushi that when was ready we add some rice vinegar


Este arroz lo ponemos sobre una alga (alga nori) que a su vez se encuentra sobre una cama hecha a base de madera.
The rice is placed over a flexible wood base covered with nori weed


Decides con qué vas a rellenar el sushi, en este caso los toppings son pepino, aguacate, queso crema, surimi hasta chile chipotle, al gusto de cada quién.
Then you have to choose the toppings for the roll, we used cucumber, avocado, cream cheese, surimi and chipotle pepper


Se coloca todo sobre el arroz y se enrolla.
We put all of it over the rice and roll it.


Posteriormente se corta.
After that cut it in pieces

¿El día feliz que está llegando? - The happy day that is coming?

Se está arrimando un día feliz...bueno, no se si decir que muy feliz pero de medianamente feliz si puedo catalogarlo.
