El ataque de la Influenza Porcina - The attack of the Swine Flu

Había sido una semana realmente tranquila, muchos ibamos regresando de vacaciones de Semana Santa, y transcurría todo en un ritmo semilento en el proceso de adaptación de vuelta a la vida laboral.
That had been a really quietly week, most of the people was just going back to normal activities after the Holy Week Break (Spring Break), everything was like in slow motion, all in process to adapt again to job rhythm.

Es el jueves por la noche (abril 23) cuando se desata la alarma, el Secretario de Salud anuncia la presencia de un nuevo virus, y la mayoría de los casos en la zona metropolitana de la Ciudad de México (estamos hablando de un centro urbano de más de 20 millones de personas) y se suspendían temporalmente actividades escolares en todos los niveles y evitar aglomeraciones (¿en la ciudad de Mèxico? Misión Imposible).
Thursday night (april 23) we heard the first alarm voices, Health Minister announced a new kind of virus, most of the cases in the Mexico city metropolitan zone (a urban center of 20 million inhabitants) and canceled all the educative activities and ask to avoid crowding (in Mexico city? impossible).

Todo esto yo lo vi a la distancia desde Monterrey, mi ciudad, una metropolí intermedia con 4 millones de habitantes y ubicada a más de 1000kms de la capital, y seguimos nuestra vida normal. Incluso ese sábado estuve todo el día en la calle, primero en la comida en un restaurante de mariscos de dueños vascos en compañìa de unos amigos, posteriormente me dirigí a un bar donde observé el juego de futbol de Tigres vs Santos, horrible el juego, y en la noche estuve de fiesta por el Barrio Antiguo.
I lived all this from the distance, I was in Monterrey, my city, a 4'000,000 millions people intermedia metropoli located to more than 1,000kms from Mexico city so we keep our normal routine. The Saturday I took my lunch with some friends in a seafood restaurant managed by basques, later I went to a bar where I watched a really awful soccer game (company was the only good thing of this) and had some party at the night in an Old Town bar.

Pero en un par de días la presencia de casos en todo el país ha provocado que se extiendan de igual manera las medidas, no hay actividad escolar en todo el país hasta el 5 de mayo, la jornada de futbol se va a jugar sin público, los que estamos trabajando lo estamos haciendo extremando cuidados y con el uso de mascarilla obligatorio.
But in a couple of days we found flu cases in all the country so the measures were taken now nationally, no scholar activities 'till may 5, soccer games of the weekend are going to be played with no people in the stadiums, all the working people are taking their cautions and must use the masks.

Y asi estamos hasta el día de hoy.

Sobreviviendo - Staying Alive

Por cosas de la vida, o de la no muerte (jeje), la semana pasada he tenido por bien a completar una vuelta mas al sol, no es que sea algo extraordinario, ya bastante tiene de extraordinario que los irresponsables que yerguen como amos del universo no hayan acabado con todos nosotros a estas alturas.
Because of the life, or the no death, last week I completed another round trip by the sun, nothing espectacular, but notable just looking at all the irresponsible people acting as masters of the universe, thanks god has not ended with the world already.

El mundo se ha vuelto un lugar difícil cuyo paso por él ya toma tintes heróicos, evitando los extremismos, la conjetura fácil, el ataque enemigo, el ataque amigo, cuando menos.
The world, what a difficult place to be, whan an heroic epic, avoiding the extremes, the easy conjecture, the enemy attack, the friend attack, at least.

Me levanto día a día y sigo adelante por esa ruta que abro en mi andar, nunca me ha gustado servir de seguidor de algún pendejo, tampoco me gustaría que alguien siguiera mi ruta (y el pendejo fuera yo).
I wake up everyday and go aheat by the path I opened with my walk, I don't like to be the follower of any jerk, neither like that somebody follow my path (being me the jerk).

Me gusta creer que la madurez me paso de lado, aunque pueda ser que haya parido conmigo, me gustaría ser siempre el tipo irresponsable que cruza rios, llanos y montañas, el que puede tomar las decisiones difíciles sin medir los riesgos, y el que pueda estar con ustedes compartiendo la copa.
I like to think that maturity forgot I'm here, even may be just besides me, I'd like to be always that irresponsible guy that goes beyond rivers, planicies and mountains, the one that can take tough decisions no matter the risks, and the one that can be with you sharing the cup.

Hoy por la mañana (tiempo de México) fueron inaugurados los Juegos Olímpicos en la capital china, impresionante, ha sido toda una experiencia esta inauguración muestra de la creatividad...y del dinero invertido por los chinos.
Today morning (mexican time) was the Olimpic Games inauguration in the chinese capital, awesome, has been all an experience this ceremony, shows the creativity...and the money investedby the chinese.

Ya llegué de donde andaba....Already at home

Estoy de vuelta …y no lo estoy, tengo grabadas, en la mente y el iris, las calles de Japón, la línea verde (jr Yamanote line) con sus populosas estaciones Shinjuku y Tokio, las concentraciones de año nuevo en los Templos Meiji y el de Asakusa, el skyline, el impacto visual de marketing, su avanzado y especializado “merchandising” , su forma tan particular de ver el mundo.
Hello people, I'm back...and not, still recorded in my mind the Japan streets, the green line (jr yamanote) with all the crowd in Shinjuku and Tokyo stations, the New Year gathering in the Meiji and Asakusa Temples, the skyline, the visual shock, the marketing, specialized merchandising, and their very peculiar way to see the world.

Y yo vuelvo a casa, más cansado, más viejo, más sabio (pretencioso!!), más sediento de saber que ayer y claro está que menos que mañana. Es increíble lo que le puede pasar a uno en un viaje de unas pocas semanas jeje.
I'm at home, more tired, older, wiser (pretentious!!! hehe), thirsty of knowledge. It's incredible all what you can live in a few weeks travel.

Regreso a casa y veo con agrado que el país no se ha desmembrado en las torpes manos de nuestra facciosa familia política a la que de cierto modo pertenezco (como pertenecemos todos los “ciudadanos”) aunque no estoy de acuerdo en el rumbo trazado.
I'm at home and I see that the country still there, still one, in the stupid hands of our political family that in certain way I'm part of (just like all the citizens), even I'm not agree with the path taken.

Durante mi estancia en Japón dio el asesinato de Benazir Butto en Pakistán, lo cual pese a la distancia no deja de inquietar a toda Asia, quien en sus sed de poder (el cual ya había detentado) regresó del exilio a un País dominado por un líder golpista y copada del extremismo, lo cual solo podía leerse como un intento suicida por más frío que se escuche.
During my time in Japan happened the murderer of Benazir Butto in Pakistan, that sent some messages to all Asia, Butto, who wanted the power she once had, went back fron exile to a country ruled by a leader product of a "coup" and full of extremist, so the going back look almost a suicide to me.

De vuelta a la realidad, de nuevo a preocuparse por todas las cosas que no se están haciendo correctamente, de nuevo a preocuparse por la futura entrada en recesión de los Estados Unidos, cuya gripa nos causa pulmonía, de nuevo regresar a la labor y a luchar por el sustento y la supervivencia, de nuevo a enfrentar la cuesta de enero (la escalada de precios de enero) y soportar a unos cínicos farsantes que afirman que se tuvo una inflación de 3.76% cuando cualquier persona que haga el mandado se habrá dado cuenta que todo subió al menos un 15%, pero en fin, jeje.
Going back to reality, again to worry because of all the mistakes we are doing as a country, again to worry for the US crisis, whose flu cause us pneumonia, going back to work and fight for the daily surviving , and to face the moth********* that give us false economic numbers (inflation of 3.76% yeah right!)

Aquí nos tocó vivir, aquí nos tocó luchar, y aquí vamos a progresar le pese a quien le pese.

De lecturas nocturnas - Reading nights

Yo no soy mucho de bares, me cansan e incomodan la mayor de las veces, aunque si salgo a veces, durante este viaje sali poco solo en Kyoto y algunas salidas en Tokio, pero me molestaba como te presionaban en las puertas para entrar en algunos lugares, aparte de que eran caros, como casi todo aqui jeje.
I'm not used to go bars and discos, it's uncomfortable to me the most of the times, during the trip I went to party sometimes, most of them in Kyoto and some in Tokyo, but I didn't like the pressure of the people of the club's doors to get in the place, more because of the expensive they are.

En este ultimo hostal, K`s House, tenian una pequenia biblioteca, casi todo en japones, pero con algunas cositas en ingles y empece a leer un libro llamado devil`s feather, de 350 hojas en estos 2 ultimas noches me avente 200 y no me gustaria dejarlo a medias,　dejen le sigo con el libro.
In my last hostel, K's House, there was a smal library, almost all in japanese, but with some thing in english so I took a book and started to read it, its name is "devil's feather", a 350 pages book, the last 2 nights I read 200 of them and I don`t like to let the things incomplete, so let me end it.

Y la televisora? - What about the tv people?

Si, ya se que no he comentado nada sobre lo de Fuji TV, me parece que los tipos anotaron mal mi correo, el dia de ayer llegaba de Yokohama al hostal y en la recepcion me dicen que han estado hablando frenéticamente de la televisora y que cheque mi mail, (que chequen el suyo jejeje) lo hice y no encuentro nada, le pregunto a la recepcion si dejaron algun telefono, dice que no, ni modo, es bronca de ellos y no hice mayor esfuerzo por contactarlos, yo estuve en la mejor disposición de echarles la mano con su chamba
Yes, I know I have not said anything about the Fuji Tv thing, I think the guys didn't write my email correctly, yesterday, when I was arriving to the hostel from Yokohama, in the lobby someone told me that have been calling from Fuji Tv all the day, so I checked my mail and I didn't find their mail, I ask the reception for a mail or phone number, they said no, ok, no problem, and I didn't made more efforts to contact them, that's all.

No me voy, me llevan - Going back home

Las responsabilidades y la necesidad de regresar al mundo real, que este pais es como la disneylandia de nosotros los consumidores compulsivos (Feliz Navidad a mis acredores jeje), me arrastran de regreso a casa.
Resposibilities and the need to go back to the real world, this country is like disneyland for us the compulsive consumist (Merry X-mas all my creditors), I being obliged to go back home.

Pues tristemente ha llegado mi ultimo día en Japón, cansado....muy cansado pero con un gran sabor de boca me ha dejado este viaje, aun ayer hice un daytrip a Kamakura y Yokohama, entre el viejo Japon y el moderno, Kamakura con sus templos, el gran buda, la estatua de madera de Kannon y la playa es un gran punto para conocer aunque exija tanto caminar, Yokohama con un enorme y pintoresco barrio chino, lleno de comidas ajenas al lujar (mucho condimento jeje) y la zona de minato con un skyline impresionante.
Sadly this is my last day in Japan, tired.....so tired but with a great taste in the mouth because of this trip, even yesterday I made a daytrip to Kamakura and Yokohama, a contrast between old and new Japan, Kamakura with the Big Buddha, the wood Kannon statue and the beach it's a great place to visit even you have to walk so much, Yokohama has a huge and colorful chinatown, full of foreign food restaurants (spicy!!), and the Minato zone has a beautiful skyline

Hoy tenía ganas de seguir de viaje por Nikko pero ya me faltaron piernas, lo dejaré para la próxima visita, porque la habrá jeje, no se cuando pero la va a haber, en esta o en la proxima vida.
Today I wanted to go Nikko, but my legs just don obbey me, I have to do it the next visit to Japan, cause I'm going to return, I don't know when, this or the next life.

Feliz año ratas!!! - Happy new year rats!!!

O sera mejor decir feliz año de la rata jeje, pues pasó el fin de año en Tokyo y sin desplantes exagerados los japoneses se vuelcan a los templos a agradecer a kamisama lo vivido lo y lo por vivir, ahorita me estoy quedando en un hostal en Asakusa cercano a uno de los templos de más afluencia y las filas rumbo al templo bloquearon avenidas como la Edo dori y demas colindantes.
Ok, maybe it's better to say happy year of the rat hehe, New Year in Tokyo, and the japanese go to the shrines to thaks kami sama all the lived in the year and all the coming, right now I'm stayong in a hostel behind the Asakusa Temple, one of the most importants in Tokyo and the lines to get near were so big that blocked the avenues near.

Reportándome - Another Update

Pues ayer estuve todavía en Osaka y por la mañana hice el daytrip al castillo de Himeji, impresionante el castillo.

Hoy estoy en Hiroshima, recorrí esta mañana el Peace Park, entré al museo que aquí se encuentra y donde se recuerda a las víctimas de la bomba nuclear, pude observar el domo y demás monumentos, algo muy intenso.

Ya por la tarde fui al puerto y tome el ferry con destino Miyajima donde vi el totti flotante.

Mañana parto a Nagasaki temprano, se cuidan

Another Update

Yesterday I was in Osaka and by the morning made a daytrip to Himeji, place one of the most beautiful castles in Japan.

Today I'm in Hiroshima walked by the Peace Park, got in the local museum where remind to the world the victims of the nuclear bomb, I saw the dome and some monuments, an intense day.

In the afternoon visited the port and took a ferry to Miyajima a near island known because of their floating torrie.

Tomorrow I depart to Nagasaki early morning, take care

Y nos llegó la nochebuena - Christmas Eve at Osaka

Ha sido muy aleccionadora la travesía hasta este punto jeje, ayer tuve mi último día por Kyoto la cual puedo considerar desde este momento mi ciudad favorita de Japón, además de que la pasé muy bien en sus calles, sus templos, su gente, etc, ayer di una última caminata, pase a lado del palacio imperial de esta ciudad, entré al castillo de Nijo y caminé hasta el Pabellón de oro de Kinkakuji, toda una experiencia esta ciudad.

Hoy 24 de diciembre por la mañana tomé el tren a Osaka, como 20 min de camino, lo cual hoy me parece un error de itinerario, estas ultimas visitas debi haberlas coordinado tambien desde Kyoto, Osaka es muy grande, y con un transporte urbano que me es un poco más dificil pero la libré pese al rudo cambio jeje, estuve esta tarde en la zona comercial la cual estaba completamente atestada con las últimas compras navideñas, aunque aqui no sea asueto y tenga un significado más importante para las grandes comercializadoras.

Mañana deberé estar haciendo un viaje corto a Himeji, regreso por la tarde a mi última noche en Osaka.

Christmas Eve at Osaka

Yesterday was my last day in Kyoto, my favorite place in Japan, great place, great people, lot to do, lot to see. I made a last walk by the city, visited the Imperial palace, visited the Nijo Castle and walked around their gardens and from there I walked throught Kinkakuji the golden pavillion, all an experience this city.

Today Dec. 24 in the morning took the train to Osaka, a 20 minutes train travel, it was a mistake of the itinerary, this visit I had to make it a daytrip from Kyoto. Osaka is bigger and with an urban transport a bit more complicated but I made it anyway hehe, spent the afternoon in a comercial zone completly full with the last x-mas shoping, even here x-mas is not a holiday but a comercial celebration. Tomorrow I'll be taking a train to Himeji, going back at the afternoon for my last night in Osaka

Haciendo el Update - Update

Bueno, sigo en Kyoto, ayer por la mañana hice un viaje corto a Nara y visite unos hermosos templos en el parque de esta ciudad, de regreso pasé por el Fushimi Inari Shrine al cual se llega despues de atravezar una cantidad interminable de puertas toriis

Ya en Kyoto alcancé a visitar Sanjusangendo un lugar impresionante que guarda en su interior más de 1000 estatuas de Kannon la diosa de la misericordia

El día de hoy, frío y lluvioso, fuí de visita a Nagoya donde pasé a saludar a una amiga japonesa con quien fui a visitar el castillo de esta ciudad.

Update

I still in Kyoto, yesterday in the morning I made a short travel by Nara and visited some beautiful temples in the city park, when I was going back got out a couple of stations before the Kyoto main Station to visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine, an awesome shinto place that, to find it, you have to go by a big amount of toriies doors that form a kind of path and sometimes a kind of labyrinth.

From the Fushimi Inari I walked throught the Sanjusangendo temple, an incredible temple that keeps more than a thousand statues of Kannon mercy goddess of budhism.

Today, a cold and rainy day, I went to visit a friend to Nagoya, after a coffee time we visited the city castle.

Llegue a Kyoto - Arriving Kyoto

Pues les cuento...

Después de más de 2 horas para llegar desde Takayama a Kyoto y todo molido salí rápidamente a la búsqueda del hostal para poder rumbar mis cosas pues tenia que ponerme a hacer las visitas pues estos japoneses jalan en los templos hasta las 5...algunos hasta las 4, asi que llego y dejo mis cosas para emprender tour en mis confiables dodge patas motorizadas.

Recorrí como 5 templos en tiempo récord y me quedé afuera, pues ya habían cerrado, de otro mas y del museo de historia de Kyoto, de los templos que visité solo supe en 3 de ellos donde estaba, es increible que una ciudad tan turística no tengan la delicadeza de poner los nombres de los templos en romanji, así que andaba por instinto y ahorita no es exactamente lo mas confiable que tengo jeje, se cuidan

Arriving Kyoto

After a 2 hours train travel from Takayama to Kyoto and soo tired, I walked quickly looking for my hostel to left my luggage and start the tourism visits cause here the temples, shrines and museums are open until 5pm, some other close earlier.

I found the place, left the bagpack at the lobbie and started the tour. I cover 5 temples in a record time y stayed outside of another cause didn't arrive on time. Not always knew where I was or what temple I was walking around, I can't believe that a so popular city between tourists don't have their info signs in romanji, so I walked from Gion more by instinct and right now it's not the more reliable of my senses hehe

dia 0: Despues de hacer el check in doy una vuelta por el electric town de Akihabara

dia 1: Visito temprano el tsukiji fish market, camino todo el barrio de Ginza, la zona de Hamamatsucho y subo a la Tokyo Tower, por la tarde voy al museo Ghibli

Travel summary

Until today this is what I have done. (just arriving Monterrey I'll be more specific)

Day 0: After the hostel check in I made a short visit by the Akihabara's Electric Town.

Day 1: Early visit to Tsukiji fish market, walking by Ginza neighborhood, Hamamatsucho zone, go up the Tokyo tower and the afternoon go went to the Ghibli museum.

Day 2: Early morning I traveled to Ise (transit in Nagoya) visited the Outher Shrine and the Meoto Iwa, go back Nagoya to sleep.
